I've gone to Philly quite a few times, but not for anything like this. February 4, 2013, I am heading to Philly for Peace Corps Staging. What this exactly means, I am still not completely sure; so we will go with: It's going to be a brief orientation to Peace Corps service. What I do know is that subsequent to Staging, on February 5, I am flying to Ghana; and February 6, I will begin Peace Corps Training, which will last three months.
Right now, I am in the process of making sure everything is prepared for the upcoming journey. Obviously, this includes finishing the most stressful thing in the world, "packing." My thoughts right now include: Did I pack enough, did I pack too much, did I forget something(s)? But, then it hits me, I am leaving tomorrow morning, so whatever I've packed will have to be fine. If I forgot to pack something, hopefully I'll be able to get it in Ghana. If they don't have it in Ghana, and I really need it, hopefully my folks will be nice enough to ship whatever it is out to me. Hopefully I didn't forget anything...
Wait, I'M HEADING TO GHANA?!?! Gosh, I feel like I did as a Freshman in high school and college: Excited for the upcoming journey, but nervous of the unknowns that are a part of the upcoming journey.
Ah, well, I'm going to enjoy my final day at home with family and friends and then it's onward to Philly and then to Ghana I go!!!!
Post y'all later!
